Easter Holiday Project a big success !

Barn Door Theatre and Mountsorrel Family Outreach joined forces this Easter to provide children from Burton on the Wolds, Mountsorrel, Sileby, Barrow upon Soar, Quorn and Woodhouse Eaves a free day of drama, along with a free lunch, and free transport to the venue if needed.

The day started with some fun filled games, which included some very brave children being blindfolded and led around an obstacle course, and led to the children creating their very own piece of promenade theatre using all sorts of strange and colourful props.

Many of the 83 children involved had never been involved with theatre before, and despite not all knowing each other to begin with, the day ended with some fantastic performances in settings that included a haunted forest, the dessert, a grand palace, and a beach.

Nicky Frisby, the Family Outreach Worker who organised the events, said “It was a privilege to watch many of the children blossom and grow in confidence before my eyes.”

Barn Door Theatre and Nicky now hope to develop some more projects together for the future, so watch this space!
